Why Projecting Authority Leads People Hypnotically

Hypnotists are in the business of creating realities.

This may sound strange – after all, the real world is the real world, right?
Wrong!
You see what our brain sees, feels and hears is only an interpretation of the “world out there”. We then attach meanings to our experiences so they make sense.
Our realities are riddled with beliefs, expectations, hopes and fears about the world.
They are not real, they just help you to survive. Imagine the nightmare of having to work out what a door was and how to use it every time you came across one!

When two people meet there will be a clash of realities before they unconsciously agree what is “real” and what is just “silly”. Typically the “stronger” reality will “collapse” a weaker one.
This is at the heart of the hypnotic process. It is also how we grow and learn as people.
Think about it: at some point you had to discover that Santa Claus was not real, you’re no longer afraid of the “bogey man”, and you realize that the world is much bigger than you thought as a child.

Now hypnosis could be defined as the disciplined study of how to alter people’s realities.
As an example, I remember a time that I was pick-pocketed in Thailand.
The scene was quite surreal: it was late at night, I was walking to my hotel when
out of nowhere a “crowd” of two people bumped into me.

I instantly knew what happened. Sure enough, when I checked my pockets, my remaining cash had vanished. I knew the little Thai man sitting on the curb had it.
But I had no idea of how to get it back. I was not prepared to use force (he had only stolen about $20), I could not go to the police as he would be gone by the time I found anyone.

I was annoyed and wanted my money back.
Luckily I knew about hypnotic realities. I faced the thief and confidently demanded my money back.
He couldn’t understand my words, but he definitely got the message. He became agitated and gestured that he didn’t have it.
I demanded again, increasing the pressure hypnotically. He got even more nervous and
started showing empty pockets.

I continued to insist for 3, 5, 10 minutes. Each time his “resistance” became more feeble.
Eventually he gave up. With a heavy sigh, he stood up and showed me the crack in the
pavement where he had hidden it.

Natural leaders, great businessmen and inspiring teachers all have the ability to create hypnotic realities that lead others. This is hypnosis in the truest sense of the word.
They project their ideas into the world with such conviction, such confidence that the world simply accepts them as true.

Remember:

“Reasonable people adapt themselves to the world, unreasonable people expect the world to adapt itself to them. Therefore all progress requires unreasonable people!”

This is the hypnotic “Authority Principle”. It is so powerful that I must emphasize: only project positive realities, because it will affect the world you live in!
