Using Your Mind to Create Wealth

The first step to the realization of lasting wealth is to know what wealth means to you. What is it that you are searching for? Remember that happiness is not a destination but a way of traveling through life’s journey. Happiness is not an oasis that lies at the edge of the desert, a place that you reach only when you are prosperous. Study many of the greatest success stories of our time and they will say that they were happiest when they were starting to build their massive fortunes. They were happiest when they were working against the odds and had the raging fire of ambition and determination burning in their bellies. Determine to be happy now, not later.

This requires nothing more than a conscious choice on your part. Once you’ve figured out very clearly what wealth means to you and what your key destination is, the next step is to develop what is known as prosperity consciousness. To be wealthy, you must think wealthy. As with all success, everything begins with the mind. Your outer world reflects your inner world. Recognize that the mind is a treasure house of power to bring you all the richness you seek.

Every man and woman in this world was born to succeed, be wealthy and be prosperous. The potential for prosperity is one of your most essential human qualities, whether you realize it or not. If there is not an abundance of all that you desire in your life, do something about it and do something today. It all begins by tapping the hidden and magical powers of that part of your mind: your subconscious mind.

Before you can do wonders in the outside world, you must first raise your standards about what you can do in your inner world. Every thought concentrated in the direction of your dreams is like a little nugget of gold, advancing you confidently in the direction of lasting life wealth. When your every thought is in the direction of where you want to go in your life, your actions follow and become productive ones. Everything is created twice: once as a blueprint in the mind’s eye and later in your reality. The process is very similar to the work of an architect who first drafts a plan of the way things will look in the building and then methodically follows this blueprint to create the structure.

Thoughts truly do become things. You are developing that state of magical thinking known as prosperity consciousness. You will start attracting tremendous opportunities and gifts that you never thought possible. What are you creating today?

Using A Dream Dictionary

The use of a dream dictionary can be a very useful tool in interpreting dreams. A dream dictionary is usually a listing of common symbols that appear in dreams and a short description of what these symbols often indicate. In many dreams where there is a prevalent symbol, it is very worthwhile to use a dream dictionary to interpret your dream.

For those who have a particular symbol that appears repeatedly in their dreams, a dream dictionary may provide them with some insight into what the symbol means. Once you understand what the symbol means, it is often easy to make the connection to what is going on in your life that is making your subconscious project this image in your dreams.

The caveat to using a dream dictionary is that the symbols found in these dictionaries do not necessarily have to be symbolic in your particular dream. One example is when there are images of ice in your dream. While ice may have certain symbolic meanings, it doesn’t always have to have the meaning indicated in the dream dictionary.

Other factors such as a recent snowfall or setting the thermostat a little too low could also be reasons for dreaming of ice. A dream dictionary can provide a great deal of insight but it is important that you realize that not everything in your dream has to have a symbolic meaning.

Escape The Pace: 15 Golden Minutes To Relaxation At Work And Home

“On the keyboard of life, always have one finger on the escape key.” - Anonymous

It’s a miserable, cold Tuesday morning and you’ve slept through your alarm again. You race through the first part of your morning and then hit the highway like an Indy 5oo racecar driver. Your heart pounds, road rage builds and you fantasize about ditching work, returning to bed, and pulling that cozy duvet high over your head. Instead, you go to work, with the full knowledge that overwhelming tasks will undoubtedly inundate you. It’s precisely at that moment you dream of cloning yourself like Michael Keaton did in the movie, Multiplicity.

The film focuses on a time-stressed man who can’t keep up with work and home demands, so he enlists the help of scientists and produces a clone of himself so he can be in two places at once. Everything appears find until he realized the copy has duplicated itself to achieve more. To make matters worse, the third version is less effective, like a photocopy of a photocopy.

Who hasn’t dreamt of having an identical twin slide into their life for a day or two? As the world spins faster and faster, the hours in the day seem to shrink.

In the early 1980s, a U.S. physician called the phenomena ‘time sickness’ and used it to describe the belief that time is getting away and we don’t have enough of it, and one must move faster to catch up.

This preoccupation with time didn’t happen overnight; it commenced with the advent of the calendar. Ancient nomadic civilizations used a calendar to determine when to plant and harvest crops, and when to relocate their villages. The ability to measure time was important for the survival of these cultures.

Once we discovered how to measure years, months, weeks and days, we were free to slice time into smaller increments such as: hours, minutes and seconds. This measurement of time became important after the Industrial Revolution. The factories that popped up across North America used to monitor an employee’s productivity, loyalty and work ethic. It wasn’t uncommon for workers to spend more than 12 hours a day in factories.

Now fast-forward to the 21st century to where companies sink of float based on the clock.

Couriers would never survive if time wasn’t a key to the success of their business. Imagine what would happen if they told a major clients his important documents for a proposed business deal would arrive sometime in the near future?

Consider companies and corporations that push their products into the market before their competitors? Would they survive if they had a laissez-fire attitude?

People believe our ‘need for speed’ is a 21st invention. It’s not. Our lives move quickly due to centuries of time focus and a large dash of new technology. Mix these ingredients together and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

Since technology is fast, we pressure ourselves. Communication is immediate, so we must be too. We fear being labeled as ‘techno-snubbers’ (people who ignore technology and aren’t ‘with it.’) It’s not acceptable to return a phone call a few hours later; we must phone back within the hour. We can’t take our vacation and leave our computers at home; we must keep wired so we don’t lose that unpredictable client. To catch-up, we stay up late, work overtime, eliminate exercise and skip meals. Our health suffers and our mental state isn’t much better. Resentment, road rage and lack of patience for others become our mainstay.

If you think you don’t suffer from stress or time constraints, consider how many times you’ve misplaced your keys, blatantly driven five blocks without remembering if you traveled through a red light, or placed your coffee cup on your car’s roof before driving to work. We’re all guilty, and it stems from sleep deprivation, stress and multi-tasking throughout our days. We’re not living in the moment because we’re thinking about the next great thing we must accomplish.

I know about stress and the need for speed because I’m a recovering “speed-aholic.” Years ago, I worked as an advertising consultant for a daily newspaper and was proud of the speed at which I conducted my life. I walked, talked and drove fast. Ironically, I only received one speeding ticket and that was while keeping pace with the other traffic.

Another time, I was late for work and placed my purse on top of my vehicle so I could load supplies into my car. In my hasted to race to the office, I drove away with the purse on the roof. I received a call from a woman who found my purse on a busy street.

Things went from bad to worse when my husband and I bought a high-end menswear store during a recession. We hired a wonderful employee to help us through Christmas and beyond and on the fourth day of this man’s work, he passed away of a heart attack in our store. I went on to work six days a week, manage two small children and do everything to keep the store going. I got sick.

For one year, I was severely ill and I knew, like many people, I couldn’t make any drastic changes to my life. I didn’t have the luxury of quitting my career and scaling back, so I decided to change my attitude about stress. I read dozens of books for the next few years and talked to many people about stress and solutions.

Months later, my depression lifted and I felt happy, fairly healthy and energized. Best of all, I discovered a wonderful antidote for speed - slowing down and escaping the pace.

“If slowing down and relaxing seems ludicrous, remember that everything in nature needs downtime to rest and rejuvenate. Why should humans be any different?”

I have a beautiful peach tree that grows near the back window of my house. In the first week of August, the tree’s branches are laden with plump and juicy, yellow and pink fruit that’s warm to the touch. This tree doesn’t always yield abundant fruit; every second year, it reduces its amount. Like breaks in the rhythm of music, or the poignant lull in conversation, and like the peach tree, we need to pause throughout our day to rest and recharge ourselves.

Our greatest innovations and discoveries are made when people slow down and temporarily pause in life. Now imagine how different our lives would be if Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison or Albert Einstein had found themselves too busy to record their magnificent findings.

Decades ago, peace activist, Mahatma Ghandhi said, “There is more to life than increasing its speed.”

“When you take 15 minutes to rest, walk or just ‘be,’ you deal more effectively with stress and challenges. If you approach each moment in a calm state, issues resolve easily and your life feels serene. “

Escaping the pace is about putting your needs first and being sure to take a mini holiday every day. When you practice this philosophy for 30 days, you’ll automatically make time for mini retreats.

The definition of a quick retreat is anything that takes 15-30 minutes. Of course you can have longer retreats that take an hour or a day, but this may be difficult if you lead a busy life. Even in the busiest life, there are small hidden pockets of ‘free time.’ This time can be used for:

• reading

• walking, outdoor exercise

• working out at the gym or doing yoga

• sleeping in late

• dancing

• playing an instrument

• eating something delicious

• seeing a movie

• visiting friends

• going on a weekend excursion

• taking a sick day to do a hobby

Your time should allow you to slow down, relax and live in the moment.

For example, how much time do you waste waiting in the doctor’s office? There, you might try reading a novel, listening to music on your MP3 player, watching people or deep breathing.

Speed isn’t the enemy; it is knowing when one must slow down to put balance in one’s life. Some things shouldn’t be slow, like the Internet and slow drivers in the fast lane. Balance is about knowing when to travel 110 km/h and when to drive off the freeway for a mini holiday. And, everyone’s idea of balance will vary greatly.

If you practice the escape philosophy every day, you’ll never need an identical twin.

You Become Who You Hang Around With!

I want you to do something really quick. Grab a pen and paper, add the total income of your friends and divide that by the amount of friends to find the average. Whatever that number reads, is probably close to what you are making right now or will make in the future…….unless something changes. This is pretty much a guarantee! Now, I am not saying that you have to ditch your friends and go get new, richer friends to become rich. All I am saying is that whoever it is that you choose to hang out with, you become like. You become who you associate with, mastermind with, and spend time with.

Jim Rohn speaks of why kids should have to pay tax on the things they buy. Give a kid a dollar and he has to give 7 pennies to every dollar that he spends for taxes. They have to learn at some point, right? I mean, that is how we can sleep peacefully at night. We pay 7 pennies so that the Military can stay up at night while we sleep comfortable in our beds. I will gladly pay 7 pennies for that! Anyway, instead of spending the whole dollar, he would counsel the kid to save some and not spend it all. The kid then asks “why.” That is when you take the kid to the other side of town and show him the difference between how those who spend the whole dollar live and the ones who save part of the dollar. Big difference!

As you hang around people who you admire, respect, and want to be like….you gradually start acting, speaking, and becoming like them. You pick up the way they speak and adapt their way of thinking. If they drive a Hummer but you are still stuck in a Geo Metro Convertible, then you might benefit a little from hanging out with them. Learn their secrets to success and tap in to their knowledge. Find out how they did it.

In order to become successful and wealthy, you need only a few things. You need an opportunity, the ambition to become wealthy, and a teacher or mentor. Most of you already live in the land of opportunity, America. People fight to get into this country, not out. Opportunity is already here. You just have to see it! Hang around those who do!

I am David Allred and I have created my createfinancialwealth.com business opportunity, and I will teach you how to obtain the lifestyle of prosperity and abundance you are seeking. If you are looking for a vehicle, I will teach you a createfinancialwealth.com/ home based business that can and will transform your life. Would it be worth 30 minutes of your time to learn of a home based business, that will change your life forever? Make more in a month than you do in a year!

Risking Everything

The movie What’s Eating Gilbert Grape takes place in a small sleepy town of Endora with the storyline built around a poor, fatherless, dysfunctional family. While you may be familiar with Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mary Steenburgen and Juliette Lewis, the star who stole my heart was Darlene Cates. She played Momma, a former beauty queen who, because of circumstances, became a 500-pound recluse who had given up on life—except for eating, sleeping and channel surfing.

She had little purpose in life and would rather be dead than seen in public. One day, her “slow” son (DiCaprio) was put in jail for climbing the water tower for the umpteenth time. The Sheriff had had enough and made good on his promise of arrest after looking the other direction since the first incident.

Momma was worried to death about her son suffering in a cold cell. Unfamiliar with his surroundings, he might scream and sob all night or inflict self-injury. This time she knew nothing else would get her son out except a face-to-face confrontation with the law.

Of course, she did a lot of soul-searching…

This meant facing embarrassment, shame and humiliation. This meant people stopping to stare, kids pointing and laughing, townsfolk gossiping, heckling and telling fat jokes. This meant risking everything she valued in life to get her boy back.

Gilbert (Depp) drove the family to the courthouse steps. Momma got out the car and with her walking cane, made a staggered beeline to the Sheriff’s office. She screamed the Sheriff’s name and demanded for her son. When the sheriff made an excuse about police procedure she screamed even louder, “My son! Give me my son!”

The office staff was quite invisible at this moment. Their codes, policies and procedures didn’t prepare them for matters of the heart. They cowered beneath the undying love of an angry mother.

Momma wouldn’t take no for an answer. This caught everyone, including her family, by surprise. With the guts and determination Momma showed, the sheriff had no choice but to give her what she wanted. There wasn’t a braver soul in Endora.

Momma risked everything to get her son back. There was no other alternative. There was no other choice. She had to conquer her inner demons.

Have you ever taken any risks?

I don’t mean gambling your paycheck away at poker, driving 85 miles-per-hour on a 65 miles-per-hour highway, or eating fast food every day. I’m talking about serenading your sweetheart when you can’t hit a note, going up against your boss and his gang of “Yes Men” in a company meeting, or jumping out of an airplane for the first time in your life. You know, the stuff that really matters. The stuff that causes you to stretch and makes something of you.

Imagine you had to do something you’re uncomfortable at, or perhaps it was your first time…

For me that would be swimming. I’ve been in the pool a few times during high school and even took some lessons, but don’t ask me to rescue your drowning cat. The closest you would ever find me to a pool is when I’m in the Jacuzzi.

But couldn’t I become an adequate swimmer if I had enough practice? What if I hired a swim coach? Couldn’t I get comfortable in the water then?

Definitely. With enough practice anyone can get good at anything within reason. It centers on possibilities and your beliefs in what you can or cannot do.

If I were to take swimming lessons at the YMCA, I’d look rather silly because I’d be surrounded by children who’d probably laugh at me. But wouldn’t the shame and humiliation be worth it if I saved someone from drowning some day?

Hurricanes and Stress Management

When psychologists talk about stress management they usually talk about human adversity, which causes or triggers the human emotion and sets off chemicals in the brain causing stress. Too much stress can overwhelm the human bio-system and cause conflicts with the human immune system.

You must control your stress because it also uses up minerals and vitamins in the body that your brain also needs. We can all think of certain very stressful times in our own lives as well as in the lives of others, as we watch our television sets and the events that are going all around the nation. During the 2005 Atlantic tropical hurricane season we saw people who had lost everything and that certainly must be a tremendously stressful event and nearly impossible to manage.

Yet if those people can get through that level of adversity and maintain strength of character without getting too stressed out then surely you can overcome the stress in your life. Consider if you will how those people got over their stress in those years and then consider things that bother you and how trivial they really are in the overall scheme of things.

You must work on your stress management and one way to do this is to understand that there are people just like you who we have gone through so much more. And if they can do it you can to. Please consider this in 2006.

Understanding Your Faith

Understanding your faith in God and His promises is extremely important for your salvation and continuation in this life. Before we start I want to ask you some questions.

1. Do you believe in the Promises of God?

2. Do you use what God says that you have?

3. Do you pray expecting to receive?

4. Do you pray believing that God is able to deliver?

5. Do you look for your prayers to be answered?

6. Are you praying in the will of God?

7. Do you know what the will of God is?

8. Do you get disappointed when God doesn’t answer your prayers? Our faith is based on Believing that God is and that He is able to deliver on His promises.

Many wonder why Gods acceptance of us into Heaven is based on;

1. Believing on Him.

2. Accepting His Son Jesus as Lord and Christ. and

3. Living the life that God directs us in by the guidance of the Holy Ghost. First we must look at our justification. Justification is Gods act making a sinner righteous before Him by His grace, received through the faith given to the person by God, for Christ’s sake, because of his life, death, and resurrection.

No sacrament or any church ritual is at all relevant in this matter; (in other words mans idea of being justified before God has little effect on the salvation of man,(Churches doctrine and rituals cannot justify.)

full justification takes place at the moment a sinner admits sin, recognizing that without faith in Jesus, being the son of God, he is lost and separated from God, and trusts in the sacrifice of Christ who took the punishment for that sin. Sanctification is what follows as a result of gratitude for Justification already completed; it must never be confused with justification.

Romans 5:1-2; Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: As Paul states in Romans 5:1, we are justified by faith. Faith in who? Jesus the Christ. The word, “Christ” is not a name but a Title of Royalty. (Jesus is the only one delegated by God to hold this title.)

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Having peace with God, gives us the blessings of the Father, thru His Son, and He acquaints us as being a Child of His. We then are given the Titles and Status as, Kings and Priests before Him.

1Co 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 2Co 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) Mans wisdom is limited to the physical, things that can be seen. The Bible states that, the Sun and Rain, are all given out to the just and the unjust, and this will be so untill the end of time. Faith is; Belief; the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, resting on his authority and veracity, without other evidence; the judgment that what another states or testifies is the truth.

Faith is a firm, cordial belief in the veracity of God, in all the declarations of his word; or a full and affectionate confidence in the certainty of those things which God has declared, and because he has declared them. Romans 10:17; So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

We see in Romans 10:17 how faith comes, by hearing Gods word preached, but faith in God brings about a faith in the reality of Satan and His legions as well. Yes as we believe in God, we also gain a belief in Satan as well. Why? When we believe in God, we also believe in His instructions on dealing with this other side of mankinds life, unrighteousness. The Bible teaches us how to rebuke and controll the evil elements that are sent against the righteous, by Satan, to destroy our Faith in God.

From evil comes all the bad sides of man, rape, theft, murder, ect. Why does God declare that even the sociable individual must believe? Lets look at; Romans 9:21, Hath not the potter(God) power over the clay(Mankind), of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? (The acceptance of one and the rejection of another.) Isaiah 64:8, “But now, O Lord, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.”

This passage is preceded in Isaiah by one declaring “the depravity of man;” Isaiah 64:6, “We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

Barnes states; As they were polluted with sin, as they had transgressed the Law of God. The passage in Isaiah proves that God has the right of a sovereign over guilty individuals; that in Jeremiah, that he has the same right over nations; thus meeting the whole case as it was in the mind of the apostle.

These passages, however, assert only the right of God to do it, without affirming anything about the manner in which it is done. He refers to man as fallen and lost. His argument is this: “Man is in ruins: he is fallen; he has no claim on God; all deserve to die; on this mass, where none have any claim, he may bestow life on whom he pleases, without injury to others; he may exercise the right of a sovereign to pardon whom he pleases; or of a potter to mould any part of the useless mass to purposes of utility and beauty.”

When Jesus died, we all fell into the same lump, the same category, the same unrighteousness. There were none good nor justified. God granted us all a chance at life everlasting in Heaven, but with the stipulation that we believed in His Son and Honored His word. As the prophets stated, God will not inter-fear with mans life as one who rejects His offer, but at the end of a mans life, God promises him that he will be judged on his works, weather they be good or evil. Without acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Christ, mans works become evil and will be judged as such.

, condemning him to life everlasting in the Lake of Fire. In this life, do you not have the right to do what ever you desire with the things you possess? You car, money, home, ect. When a man comes in and steal from you, don’t you require him to pay for his theft, and if someone enters into your family and kills one, done you require his life as restitution? If so, then God also requires payment for His Sons death and sacrifice.

There is no difference. Now the answer to the questions is this. It should have been ,”Yes.” to all. 2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Number 8. Do you get disappointed when God doesn’t answer your prayers? WE all do at times because we are still in the flesh. God understands.

10 Tips for Kids Simple and Organized Living

Tips to help you and your children move towards Simple and
Organized Living!

1. Outdoor Toys - Organize outside toys by keeping a large
plastic tub or crate on the porch/deck or in the garage. Go
through and throw away toys that are broken and give away or
sell toys that have been outgrown or are no longer in use.

2. Snacks - Keep children’s dishes and snacks on low shelves
so they can access them.

3. Baskets - Keep baskets or crates for toys in each room to
avoid scattered toys everywhere.

4. Videos - Label all video movies and turn them so that
kids can easily find the movie they are looking for. Go
through and do away with those that you no longer watch.

5. Make a Sandwich Center - Simply put lunch meat,
pre-sliced tomatoes, lettuce and what ever else your
children eat on sandwiches in a plastic container and label
it “Sandwich Center” and teach them to make their own
sandwich. All they have to do is open the fridge and grab
the “Sandwich Center” which contains everything they need to
put the sandwich together and return the container to the
fridge when finished.

6. Chore Time - Give children appropriate chores for their
ages. It is so easy for us as parents to do it ourselves to
save time and arguments but this is not doing our children
any good in the long run. Give them a choice of chores,
trade chores among each other in order to combat boredom
make it a fun process and they will want to do the chores.
When they do a good job let them know and likewise if they
do a bad job because they are in a hurry let them know that
also and have them do it better next time.

7. The Night Before - A great way to relieve morning stress
is to do what you can the night before. Children can take a
bath, lay their clothes out for the next day, have parents
sign notes, get their backpacks, jackets and books together
and have ready at an accessible place.

8. Donate Toys - Have children go through toys and donate
them or help them have a yard sale and earn extra money.

9. Pick Up Time - Have kids use 5 - 10 minutes daily to pick
up their room and this will save alot of time when room
cleaning day rolls around because they have stayed somewhat
ahead of the mess.

10. Backpacks - Have kids clean out their backpacks and
launder or wipe them clean once a week. Throw away all
papers that are no longer any good and only return the items
needed for the week or next day.

Faltering University Leadership: Ignoring the Market Demands - Nu Leadership Series

“Any committee is only as good as the most knowledgeable, determined and vigorous person on it. There must be somebody who provides the flame.”
Lady Bird Johnson

Technology and cultural influences continue to change our society. However, traditional universities have ignored cultural trends. According to Clayton, an educational expert, the 21 century needs students who possess good communication skills, critical thinking, applied knowledge, intellectual depth, ethics, and cultural understanding. Many organizational changes in universities are conducted from a “top-down” manner. Nadler and Tushman, author of Competing by Design, explain that a top-down approach focuses primarily on the strategic level but is blind to operational problems in organizations.

Therefore, I hypothesize that more knowledgeable students and a demanding market are forcing educational changes. Let’s analyze closer. The quickening pace of technology, global competition, and educational innovations has caused students to view themselves as customers. Many institutions continue to ignore working students; however, the current undergraduate markup is 73 percent of nontraditional students. Also, the demographic changes of more women, minorities, and low income students have created social pressure on traditional institutions.

Berg, author of Lessons from the Edges, cites the following as a state of higher education: (a) diminishing financial support, (b) mandating to serve adult learners and first-generation college students, (c) needing to balance applied and liberal arts curricula, and (d) the subsequent necessity of maintaining and evolving institutional mission. According to Lyon, Kysilka, and Pawlas, authors of The Adjunct Professor’s Guide to Success, students want more than the traditional academic institution is willing to give.

As savvy customers, students are weighing their options. They don’t need to depend on the local universities to educate them. Therefore, the emergence of customer-focused college curriculums has come about via outside sources.

The One Thing You Should Know That Could Get You What You Want Every Single Time

Do you know what you really want? Can you put you’re your hand on your heart and say: “I know exactly what I want and I have full confidence and faith that I will get what I want no matter what?”

If you don’t know exactly what you want, you don’t have to feel alone. After all, about 90 percent of people don’t really know what they want.

If you do a survey and ask 100 people what exactly they want, you will get a range of very vague answers ranging from “I want to be happy” or “I want to be rich” or “I want to be healthy”. Well, guess what? Everyone wants happiness, health and wealth, but most of them don’t seem to have it. This is where drop-outs have made a distinction.

From looking at other drop-outs and also my own experience, it became clear that drop-outs dropped out of “the system” because they knew exactly what they wanted. They wanted to follow their dreams. They didn’t want to be stuck in a bureaucratic system where creativity and ambition is stifled. So, they decided to take the plunge and drop-out and start up the engine that would boost them to fulfilling their own dreams and desires.
