A Simple Motivation Technique For Massive Success

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

Want to hear about a simple & effective motivation technique? It´ll help you get motivated and stay motivated.

Do you want to know the key to beating procrastination and
achieving much more?

Let me tell you how I discovered the secret to achieving
massive success…

I had some work to do yesterday and I kept putting it off.

I thought to my self - I´ll wait until later when I feel
more alert and in the right frame of mind to do it just
right

Do you ever do this?

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. If I wait for the
perfect moment I will be waiting a very long time.

With that in mind I just got started. I took the pressure
off and stopped insisting that I create a perfect piece of
work.

The endless pursuit of perfection and the craving for total
and complete success at everything you do is a trap.

A dangerous trap. And the opposite of a motivation technique.

Why?

Because it will stop you from getting started. And
beginning is sometimes all you need to do to ensure success.

When you get the ball rolling, the gathering momentum will
keep you going. You will stay motivated and drop procrastination.

Listen to this for a motivation technique that works….

Last week - I read an interview with a world-class marathon
runner who has run some tough races including ones where
he ran a marathon a day each day for a week or more at a
time.

When asked how he could take on such enormous physical and
mental challenges without feeling overwhelmed he gave a
simple answer.

He said he never thinks about it in terms of running a 26
mile race instead he focuses on taking one step.

And then another, and another…

Take one step at a time.

Complete it and then take on one more step. Do this
and you can achieve some spectacular results.

So you see.

Even a simple motivation technique can work wonders!

King Solomon’s Mind

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

“Don’t you understand, everything in this life is meaningless,” cautioned the old man.

“Meaningless? Everything? Surely not!” responded the young man in disbelief.

Smiling the old man continued, “I know, I know, because I’ve seen it all. You name it, and I have done it. I not only did it, but I did it in a big time, kingly fashion.

“I denied myself nothing, nothing at all. But looking back on it now, I tell you, none of it really amounted to a hill of beans.

“What do think is worthwhile in life, son? The pursuit of happiness? I had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines.

“I had music from men and women singers whenever I wanted it; all the wine I could drink whenever I wanted it; and a palace full of folks falling all over themselves doing everything possible to get in my good graces.

“But when you get everything you want whenever you want it, you quickly realize how meaningless pleasure is. Whenever you seek pleasure, pleasure eludes you. The only way you find pleasure is by seeking something else first.

“Try paying someone a sincere compliment, help someone with a chore, maybe just take a nice walk on a sunny day. The idea is to do something you really enjoy doing for its own sake. Then when you least expect it, happiness bubbles up like a well inside you. You don’t find pleasure; pleasure finds you.

“Pursuing pleasure for pleasure’s sake, however, is like chasing after the wind.

“If not pleasure, then what? Wealth? Should you dedicate your life pursuing wealth?

“Listen to me. I had houses, vineyards, gardens, parks, fruit trees, reservoirs watering groves of trees, male and female slaves, a harem full of women, men and women singers, more herds and flocks than anyone in Jerusalem, horses and chariots, and more silver and gold than you can imagine.

“I had it all. Believe me, if money and things could buy happiness, then you would be looking at the happiness man in the world!

“But what did I discover? Just this: Whoever loves money never has money enough. They always want more. Rich men don’t even sleep well at night. They know someone’s out there plotting to get their money.

“Money has its uses, but don’t lose your perspective. You’re not taking it with you. It will all be left behind to someone who didn’t earn it.”

The young man frowned, “I can see pleasure and wealth aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, but what of education? learning? wisdom? You, of all people, cannot deny the value of wisdom.”

“Oh yes, I spent a great deal of time in study. I learned everything I could about every subject you can think of. That’s how I got my reputation for wisdom. It didn’t fall out of a tree, you know.

“What did I find out? The more you learn, the more depressed you get. Too much study just wears you out. Certainly wisdom is better than foolishness, but in a few short years, both the wise man and the fool wind up in the grave. Before long both are forgotten.

“Well then, what of work?” inquired the young man. “Will you now tell me work is also meaningless?’

“Work? Yes, I worked. I built things. I built houses, reservoirs, and even a temple for God. I delighted in my work. That was my reward.

“Of course in the long run, all of our toil is useless. Whatever you make, you can’t take it with you. What you labored for will be turned over to another who didn’t work for it. And in due course, it will be torn down or destroyed and soon forgotten.”

“How depressing! You’ve thrown a wet blanket on pleasure, money, knowledge, and work. For the life of me, I don’t know what’s left,” cried the young man.

“My son, I’ll tell you the truth,” replied the old man. “You can do nothing better than eat, drink, and find satisfaction in your work. Enjoy life with the woman you love. Whatever you do, do with all your might because you never know when your life might end.

“While you are young, enjoy life as much as possible. The years slip by quickly from youth to adult to middle age to old age. When death calls, your body returns to the ground and your soul to God who gave it.”

Then the old man issued his final warning: “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”

The year was 1,000 B.C., the old man, King Solomon. Has advice from ‘the wisest man who ever lived’ stood the test of time? You be the judge.

Communication Model: 4 Steps to Keep Your Personal Power (Part 2)

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

These 4 steps, if practiced to the point of being second-nature, will bring you to a whole new level of effectiveness in all your interpersonal relationships.

This article (Part 2) provides some practical application, but first, a review from Part 1 of “Personal Power: 4 Communication Steps to Get It and Keep It”:

INFORM: In a neutral tone of voice, simply reflect back to the person what they are doing. “Do you realize that you are late?” “Do you realize that you are shouting?”

REQUEST: You make a simple, calm request for them to stop the behavior. “I ask that you be on time.” “I request that you stop shouting.”

INSIST: You insist that the person stop. (It would be unusual to get to this level. Most people respond to either step one or two.)

LEAVE: If the person still has not responded to your reasonable statements and requests, you may have to leave the room, or perhaps leave the relationship.

The really great thing about this communication model is that when you do step one “Inform”, you are giving the other person a graceful exit. Most people are well-meaning, and do not want to hurt or offend, and simply may not realize that their behavior or statements have the effect they have. So, by you saying in a neutral “Do you realize that (whatever)”, they have the opportunity to apologize, learn your boundary without being threatened, and move on to a healthy conversation and relationship.

REAL LIFE APPLICATION:
I once I saw these steps executed expertly by a friend and colleague of mine at work. We had a boss who was extremely disrespectful, and out of control, and who would launch into personal attacks on a whim.

One day, my friend demonstrated all four of these steps with amazing calm. When the boss raised his voice and began to shout, she simply said “Do you realize that you are yelling?”. She repeated this a few times before moving on to step two. “I ask you to stop yelling at me.” He kept on. She responded with something like “I must insist that you stop yelling at me or I will have to leave the room.” He didn’t stop, and she left. He was baffled! Did it change his behavior? Unfortunately, in this case it did not. But, my friend kept her sense of self, pride, and her power. Plus, she earned the respect of every single person who was in that meeting. I will never forget it.

POTENTIAL REAL LIFE SCENARIO:
How about the friend who is habitually late when you agree to meet for lunch. You can start by saying “Do you realize that you are 20 minutes late?” If they continue in this habit, say “I ask that you not be late when we are scheduled to meet.” If this is still not enough to promote a behavior change, then the next time, “I insist that you meet me on time, or I will leave the restaurant.”

Next time they’re late - leave. The “friend” will arrive late, and be surprised that you have actually followed through, and were able to articulate each of these phases of the model with such calm, unemotional, clear, self-respecting aplomb.

Beware! Our natural tendency is to skip over steps 1 and 2 and go right for 3 and 4 – and by that time, we are usually not able to keep the neutral tone of voice.

OK, time to practice.

List the people in your life who are crossing your boundaries and write down a simple sentence to inform them. For example, “Julie, do you realize that you are usually several minutes late for our lunch meeting?” Or – “Bob, do you realize that you interrupt me frequently when I am speaking?”

Don’t make any requests at this point. This is new territory for both you and those in your life. You have allowed them to cross your boundary for a long time, so give them a few chances to “get it”.

Practice, practice, practice saying them in a neutral tone. As you get comfortable with these 4 steps, you will become the queen (or king!) of good communication and boundary-setting. You’ll earn the respect of others, self-respect, and healthier relationships than ever before!

The Amazing Power of Enthusiasm

Friday, September 29th, 2006

Once upon a time, a salesperson named Richard was assigned to sell his products in a small rural town. Upon his arrival he was met by Danny, the only other salesperson assigned to the area. Having already been a salesperson for two years running, Danny felt it was his responsibility to guide and direct Richard, who was only a couple of months into the job. So Danny proceeded to give the rookie salesman what he felt was the best piece of advice he could provide. He was quick to tell Richard that he shouldn’t waste his energy selling to the people of the town, because he can expect to sell no more than a very little amount of his products there, as the town’s residents were often skeptical, cold, and stingy towards salesmen and their products. Everyday he would drag his feet to work, Danny told him, just for the sake of going to work.

“What’s the use of putting an effort? They won’t buy your goods anyway, no matter how hard you sell it to them”. He suggested that Richard do the same for as long as he was in that area, and start working hard only after he’s been assigned to another, more lucrative location.

Richard, although he was new to the job and had little experience as a salesperson compared to Danny, believed in the products he sold, and more importantly, possessed passion and zeal for his line of work. So on his first day, paying no attention to Danny’s advice, he set off to work full of energy and with a great big smile. He started selling his products, knocking on door after door, energetically giving demonstrations, handing out flyers and brochures, willingly answering questions, even providing a bit of entertainment at times. He soon began to realize that the people of the small rural town were nothing like the way Danny told him they are – in fact, they were the quite the opposite. Richard even managed to sell beyond his quota on his very first day.

Meanwhile, Danny continued dragging his feet to work, selling his products half-heartedly. He would barely sell enough of his products to meet half of his daily quota. He couldn’t figure out what he was doing wrong – he knew his products well, he had been trained properly and did everything that was required of a salesperson, but somehow he just couldn’t make the sale. Soon, while Richard continued to flourish as an excellent salesperson, Danny found himself unemployed.

The moral of the story? Never underestimate the power of enthusiasm, because a little of it can go a long, long way. Whatever you do in life, however big or small of a task, you will be able to do it much better if you have a sincere passion and zeal for it. Your enthusiasm will bring you the energy you need to accomplish whatever task in the best way that you can, thereby yielding the best results. Your enthusiasm can also influence the people around you, so that they too become energized and motivated to accomplish their duties in the best way that they can.

With the power of enthusiasm, a project or a job, however unpromising or dull, can become a most exciting and successful activity, and it’s solely up to you to make it that way – all you need is a bit of passion and motivation, a dash of inspiration, and a bolt of energy. All of this you can get from a dose of enthusiasm – that’s how strong of a force it is.

Finding Hope After the Death of a Child

Friday, September 29th, 2006

I am still in shock at the death of my daughter, the 45-year-old mother of twins. The shock of her death in a car crash will be with me forever. Fortunately, I am blessed to have twin grandchildren and my new mission in life is caring for them. My husband and I share this mission.

I know my grandchildren and they know me. They know I love them, will care for them, and keep my promises. Though they are living with their father my mind is filled with parenting thoughts about them. Do you have enough lunch money. Have your bus fees been paid? What clothes do you need?

Somehow, while I am dealing with questions, legal procedures and financial ones, I must find hope. It is not easy. Every day I look for hope, for as a health writer, I know its spark can keep me going. Where is my hope?

MY DAUGHTER WAS AN ORGAN DONOR. After consulting with our grandchildren, my husband and I signed an agreement with Life Source to donate our daughter’s organs. The Life Source representative called the next day. “Your daughter saved three lives,” she said, “and because of her another will see.”
Knowing my daughter helped others gives me hope.

FRIENDS HAVE SHOWERED US WITH KINDNESS. Because my husband and I are active in the community we have received cards from friends, people we barely know, and strangers. Some of the comments on the cards make us cry, but we are still comforted by them. The kindness of others gives me hope.

MEMORIALS IN MY DAUGHTER’S NAME GIVE ME HOPE. At the end of our daughter’s obituary we suggested memorials to Mayo Clinic. The memorials we received added up to a substantial donation to Mayo Clinic. Helping Mayo Clinic to carry out its mission of medical practice, education and research gives me hope.

MY DAUGHTER IMPRINTED HER VALUES ON HER CHILDREN. The twins started thinking about their mother’s values the moment she died. “Even when Mom disciplined us she was never angry,” my grandson said. “Mommy always tried to make people smile,” my granddaughter said. The twins know their mother wanted them to go to college and we will make this dream come true — a mission that gives us hope.

THE SIGNS OF SPRING LIFT MY SPIRITS. The piles of snow around our house are melting and I am starting to see green grass. Next to the house, the birch trees show signs of budding. I saw my first robin yesterday. She (or he) sat on a tree near the house and sang for several minutes. Spring gives me hope and I am looking forward to it.

These hopeful signs are helping to heal my grief. I am also trying to make something good from grief and writing articles is a way to do this. Grief is a common bond that joins people together and makes us human.

The Homestead Revolution - Part One

Friday, September 29th, 2006

Many find the idea of revolution frightening, most especially those who are living the good life. Change is dangerous. The unknown may be monstrous and ugly. Life will never be the same and the sameness of many lives is perceived as comfort and security. We can expect many to hang on to this perception until it is no longer possible. As in the story of the Three Little Pigs, we know those who will prepare for change will be a minority and probably a very small one. It is that minority I hope to reach in this new Information Age.

My astrology book explains how age changes bring on chaotic conditions and social upheaval. The astrological age is changing from Pisces to Aquarius. The Age of Pisces began around the time Jesus walked the earth and Rome destroyed Jerusalem in the first century of the new age. In some circles America is considered the new Jerusalem. The blessings America has enjoyed between wars indicate there might be some truth to this idea. So what happens when three different age changes take place at once? Should we expect tripled chaos and upheaval? It seems to me the attacks of September 11, 2001, the first year of the new ages, symbolize this change.

If we look at the Biblical divine day of 1,000 years, we see the 6,000 year Age of Man is drawing to a close, to be replaced by the Kingdom Age, a one thousand year sabbath rest to the land. A time of cleansing, peace and regeneration. We get to clean up the messes made in our name and the name of progress. The Industrial or Machine Age is giving way to the Information Age. The reason we can expect chaos and upheaval is that the old order struggles as hard as it can to maintain power and control in the face of change. The new order has to deal with this as it struggles for birth. Saddam Hussein symbolizes the old order, as does President Bush and the entire Western, corporate, money loving establishment. The World Wide Web, satellite communications and universal compassion symbolize the new order. The clash is scary, loud, nasty, bloody and deadly.

In the Book of Revelation, we have end time scripture where God says: “Come out of her my children, that you not be partakers of her plagues.” There is nothing abstract or esoteric in the command. It is simply to separate from the money lovers, who are about to taste of divine justice. Divine justice is something quite apart from the American justice we often hear so loudly proclaimed. By the extent of the prophesied destruction, we can expect a survival rate of one in three of the existing population - those who have forcibly or voluntarily separated from money lover economics, politics and greed.

If we accept these changes will occur no matter how we feel about it, we know we will change as well. Our choice is whether to have it forced on us, as the old order would do, or welcome and prepare for it. The Homestead Revolution is about preparation. It is about maintaining comfort, agreeable society and personal security in a world apparently going to hell in a handbasket. It is about weathering a protracted storm. It is about survival of the wisest and the destruction of the foolish. In the story of the Three Little Pigs, the wise pig is salvation to the foolish. What if there was only one wise pig in a land of 10,000? The wise pig provides for them all or many must feed the wolves. If the wise pig hopes to save them all, s/he had better find and talk it over with many more wise pigs. I’m trying to do this now. Who among us is planning to survive, help and love his or her neighbors?

Survival and survivalists are more words that scare people, because it means unwanted changes and probable violence, no matter what follows. Who wants to think about it? I do. It will be the survivors who will truly begin the New Age work on a global scale and the planning ought to begin soon. Accidental survivors will be sick, wounded, dying. Will there be anyone to help them or will we all be scrambling to stay alive? Keep your eye on Iraq and Afghanistan. See what lessons these countries will teach us at the beginning of the New Age. I see many already. Every major event will have lessons to teach and major events are coming one right after another, until the old order is destroyed and disempowered. We need to pay attention and seek out these lessons.

For Love and Money

Few people see the foundation of the Old World Order is economic. Its value system is over three thousand years old and it is illustrated in the last book of the New Testament, Chapter 18. In this chapter appears a list of merchandise in descending order of economic value. Gold tops the list, followed by silver and precious stones, the items traditionally used as money. Last on this long list is slaves, followed by the souls of men. The slave has a higher value because the slave will bring the master the other things on the list at minimal cost. The souls are unpredictable, uncontrollable and cannot be valued at all. This old economic value system makes life and people the most disposable commodities. It values dominion above stewardship. It emphasizes competition over cooperation. It concentrates money and power in relatively fewer hands over time. People cannot matter at all in this value system and we must be rid of it or it will be rid of us. The West is searching for its collective soul and finding it. Every individual influences the collective and the collective influences most individuals. Fear begets fear, love begets love - both reproduce in kind.

In modern times, the slaves receive a wage or salary and do not see themselves as slaves to the economic masters - the chief executive money lovers. This works out well for slave masters because they have no burden of slave maintenance or fear of rebellion. Souls have no use for slavery and represent a threat to slave masters. If it were not for a system of education and propaganda that converts souls to slaves, no free souls would be tolerated. Because they are only a small minority of the labor force, they can be ignored, up until now. Early in this New Age this economic value system will change. The last will be first. Money and merchandise will help liberate the slaves - the souls will grow in number, power and wisdom. Money will be used for universal good, not privilege and destruction, control and dominion. Stewardship and husbandry replace the on - going rape of the planet. If you can’t see this coming, watch Oprah.

Realpolitik

American school children are taught that Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves. I say someone decided to pay them and spread the plantation from sea to shining sea. Most of us are taught to want jobs on the plantation and have them. Many only want better ones. There has never been a shortage of things that need to be done, or people to do them. The people await someone who will turn the work into jobs and employ them. Many a business mogul began by doing the work and finding a way to be paid for it, later. As the work overwhelmed him, he found he could afford helpers and created jobs. It becomes a co-dependency. An employer needs employees - employees need an employer. Because the value of slaves is determined by a pre arranged economic value system, there are always far more slaves than any employer needs. Competition keeps global wages depressed, while enriching employers and slave masters. Partnerships will change all this. Jobs will disappear. Good riddance!

Not everyone can be a slave. Both souls and slave masters will forfeit the security of slavery for other alternatives. Not everyone can be a slave master. Souls don’t want the responsibilities of maintaining slaves and many slaves don’t want the responsibility or the risk of failure. Yet, slavery is rapidly going the way of the Old World Order and its value system. Employers will have to pay fair market value for labor, instead of minimums fixed by law. Working conditions will begin to reward the workers and allow them better lives inside and outside the workplace. Many former slaves will become small independent business people who don’t want or need slaves but will reward competent helpers or partners. Many have already stepped off of the corporate ladders to enjoy independence in their chosen work. Partnerships have been tremendously under used and undervalued until now. Slaves will become scarce and valued fairly. All according to this old law of scarcity, supply and demand. The current over supply of labor depresses wages - an under supply of cooperative labor will raise wages.

Your Confession Of Wealth - You Can Have What You Say

Friday, September 29th, 2006

(Confess this boldly several times a day)

Yesterday is gone forever and tomorrow will never come, therefore, Today is my day of salvation. The set time for God to favor me is come. This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in my eyes. Today is the day which the LORD has made; I rejoice and am glad today. Save today LORD: send prosperity today.

Today is the day of my super natural debt cancellation. Today is the day that God brings me to my wealthy place. Today is the day of my favor because God has anointed me for wealth and I am ready to move in my position. Today I am a covenant commander of wealth. Today I hear His voice because I do not harden my heart. I am ready to sow today. I am ready to receive today. Today my heart is fixed trusting in the Lord. I will never be broke another day in my life because today God is my only provider of wealth.

“Money Cometh to Me Now”, in the Name of Jesus. All money knows my name and is seeking me out today. Wealth over takes me today because I am a money missionary. I know what to do with money and wealth today. Silver and gold wealth and riches, “Come to my house today.” Today I magnify the Lord in my wealth and give him pleasure.

Today I am a living epistle of Christ and His glory because He continually supplies me out of HIS RICHES AND GLORY. My Body is prosperous today, my mind is prosperous today. Every thing that God has willed to me prospers today. Today my faith makes manifested blessings appear before me.

The Magnetic, Attracting Power of the Mind

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

The power of the mind draws certain events, circumstances and people into our lives and repels others. In this respect, it resembles a magnet. Just look at the people around you. Some pass through certain events and circumstances, while others pass through different experiences. Some accomplish certain things easily, and others accomplish these same things with great difficulty or not at all.

Your mind is composed of the thoughts you think. These thoughts are like magnetic currents. If you think positively about some event or action, you get positive results. If you harbor negative thoughts, this negativity is drawn into your life.

You attract into your life what you think about frequently. It does not mean that every thought gets materialized. Most of the thoughts are weak and are not repeated long enough to gain sufficient strength. Weak thoughts, like a weak magnet, hardly have any attractive power.

You have seen how a magnet draws metal objects. A strong and big magnet draws bigger objects than a small and weak one. Magnets have another peculiar characteristic. One side of the magnet draws, and the other side repels.

The power of attraction is a neutral power. The magnet draws to itself everything made of iron, no matter whether it is a useful object or junk. The mind acts in the same way. It attracts into your life positive and negative situations and events, according to the thoughts that you think.

Like the magnet the mind not only attracts, but also repels. If you do not believe you can get or accomplish something, then you repel it. Thoughts of incompetence, weakness, fear and inferiority create a repellent force. It is as if you are creating a wind that blows away and prevents certain things to reach you.

There are several ways to charge your mind and thoughts with magnetic power. Strong desire, concentration and faith are some of the important ingredients for infusing power into thoughts.

Many activate the magnetic power of their mind unconsciously, without knowing what they are doing. When you know the rules, you become able to activate the magnetic power of your mind consciously, positively and effectively.

Visualizing and thinking with concentration, desire and faith, and repeating these thoughts often, unleashes powerful energy. Your thoughts get radiated and broadcasted, influencing the minds of other people, and attracting to you people who think along the same lines as you do and who can help you with your plans. This process also heightens your awareness and perceptiveness of any opportunity connected with your thoughts that comes your way, and fills you with the inner power and initiative to utilize it.

Why not become conscious of your thoughts, choose to think the ones that are beneficial for you, and consciously and advantageously utilize the power of attraction? You can attract people, circumstances, events, possessions or a life style with the magnetic power of attraction of your mind.

Remember, what you think about intently, with attention and feeling is attracted to you. It can be material and it can be spiritual. The power of attraction is a universal power and manifests everywhere and in everything. It is the power that holds the Universe together. Without it there would not be any world.

How To Be RPA Driven Person (Results Purpose Action)

How to be RPA driven person (Results Purpose Action)

How do you turn your dreams and goals into reality. There are many answers to this one, and many people have many formulas, but there is one to me that sticks out of the rest, which is RPA.

R is for results, P is for purpose and the A is for Action.

Results - when a situation arises you need to ask yourself, what is the results that I want out of this situation? Write it down, make it clear.

Purpose - what purpose is there in getting these results? Write it down and make it clear.

Action - this is the last step - write down what actions you need to get the results you want. These little action steps combined with the goal-setting will really get you there.

You might ask how do I know this stuff works.

Because I have the results to prove. Never do or take advise blindly from people or websites if their author or person has no results. Here is some of the results I have produced using this system.
