Purpose In Life - How To Break Free From The Crowd

Monday, July 31st, 2006

If you haven’t figured it out by now, if you follow the crowd in life you will never reach your full potential in life. Purpose can only be reached when you fall out from among the ranks of the crowd and move into the ranks of the few. You see, the crowd believes that they can reach success by doing what everyone else is doing. Their motto is ‘Play it safe so you don’t make mistakes’. If you follow the crowd you will never end up at your own unique finish line. Here are 3 ways to break free from the crowd.

1. Question what you are doing?
Don’t just follow along because that is where everyone else is going. You may not want to go where they are headed. Begin to ask yourself where you want to end up in life. Once you know what you want and where you want to be, then ask yourself if you are on the right path to get there.

2. Map out your own future.
Begin to make goals and plans for your life and then begin to follow them. Why would you want to put your future and life into the hands of others? Take control of where you are headed so that you can dictate where you end up.

3. Seek advice from those who have done what you want to do.
It only makes sense that if you want to go somewhere, you ask for directions from someone that has been there. If you are surrounding yourself with people that are headed in the opposite direction that you want to go, you will find it very hard to change direction.

Is there greatness on the inside of you but you don’t know how to achieve it? Jason has just completed his brand new 7 part e-course, ‘Find Your Greatness’

Doing Your Part in the Co-Creative Process

Monday, July 31st, 2006

When you drive a car, do you start the motor, put it in gear, then open the door, jump out, run around behind and push? Of course you don’t! You stay in your seat with your hands on the steering wheel and guide or steer the car to wherever you want it to go. The point here is that when you attempt to do the car’s part, you fail to do your own.

Your part in the Creative Process of Manifestation is to provide the intention, the mental pattern, for the Creative Energy that flows through your mind to do its work. You direct your intention, but then give the Creative Energy complete freedom to do its work, in its own way - which, by the way, is so much more than you could ever imagine.

Everything we want to create is form. And every form, EVERY form, has an energy pattern that makes up that form. When the energy pattern behind the form is complete, the form manifests into your physical experience. That’s the process. You can’t possibly make sure all the energy patterns that are contained within that form are in place, that’s the job of Creative Energy (God, the Universe, whatever you resonate with). Your job is to intend that the Creative Energy pull together all the necessary energy patterns that will make up that form, from your intention, in its perfection.

Now I know this may seem like a lot at once and simultaneous
incredibly simple, but go over and over this until you understand the principle. This is how you can fulfill your part of the Creative Process of Manifesting, which is a co-creative process.

Exercise: Sit quietly and undisturbed, relax yourself with your
breath, and think of something you want to experience or have and make the intention that this thing (form) become part of your experience.

Now, in a relaxed manner, imagine this form complete in your life. How do you feel, what do you see, how is your life more expanded now that this form is in your life? Now give it over to the Creative Energy, which is unlimited by the way, and let it do its part. Your part is done, that simple.

Should you think of this form after you’ve take the time to do this, only think in terms of experiencing it as already being in your life. Thinking of the absence of it because it hasn’t shown up yet, is like planting a seed and digging it up every few days because you don’t see the flower blooming.

By doing this exercise, you not only begin strengthening your trust level, in yourself and the Creative Energy that flows through all, but you release any blocks in the way so that all the behind the scenes stuff that has to happen by the Creative Energy is given its chance. Life is supposed to be abundant, it’s time to face it, but most of all, to allow it!

Motivational Speaker Says Time-Shifting Can Be Your Gateway To Vitality & Genius

Monday, July 31st, 2006

I’m awake again at an odd hour, banging out yet another article for my fellow sleep explorers.

It occurred to me that my recent sojourn to Europe, the resulting jet lag, and summer cold that I have experienced, are all joining to give me some insights about our typical and atypical sleep and waking cycles, and their significance.

But let me back up. Because I’m on the West Coast, Italy is nine hours ahead. So, when I arrived there at 8:30 in the morning, it was 11:30 at night, to my body.

I forced myself to stay awake for another four hours, walking around, drinking espresso, and then I took a nap, waking up a few hours after that, for dinner. And, more or less I stayed on Italian time for the duration of my 7-day adventure.

But during the week and a half that I’ve been back, my body and its cravings have been out of whack. I’m sleeping at odd hours, getting hungry too soon and too late, and I’ve also caught a cold, sapping my strength.

But these maladies are making me see that really, we can operate on a 24-hour clock, providing we allow ourselves to do it. Our days do not have to be broken down into three, 8-hour intervals, to which many of us are acculturated and conditioned.

Thomas Edison knew this, reportedly taking numerous cat naps during each 24 hour cycle, instead of blocking out a longer span for repose. His accomplishments are legendary, and from the photos I’ve seen of him, he lived to a ripe old age, or if he died young, he looked like he lived to a ripe old age!

The New York Times just featured an article about a fellow, 94 years young, who does driver’s training for other geriatrics.

The secret to his longevity: lots of short naps.

These gents are what I term: time-shifters.

They’ve taken control of the clock, and they’re using it in creative ways, ways that suit their purposes.

Obviously, they don’t take long trips or catch colds for this purpose, but somehow they have arrived at the insight that time is what we make of it, and their willingness to defy convention in when and how they use it, may actually be the mark of genius!

Success with Subliminal Messages

Monday, July 31st, 2006

The United States Government positioned a ban in 1974 on the use of subliminal messages on television and radio. Reports declared that the ban was put in place because using subliminal messages “gave individuals and companies too much of an edge”.

However, that certainly doesn’t mean subliminal messages are null and void. If truth were told, they are still in use today in scores of different ways. Big retail stores are using subliminal messages to trim down on theft. Even celebrities such as Tiger Woods and Anthony Robbins have maintained that subliminal messages are a significant component of their success. Thousands of people have used subliminal messages in audiotapes and other forms to help them succeed in school, improving self-esteem, careers, quitting smoking and even weight loss.

In the present day, experts are still showing people how to control and use the power of subliminal messages through many different resources, including computer software that communicates the modifiable messages even while you work on other things.

The theory is that, although the conscious mind cannot understand these subliminal messages, the subconscious instantly understands and acts upon them. As a result, people who use subliminal messages are able to progress their success in any part of their life they choose and it’s easier than they ever thought it could be.

Try using subliminal messages to make you more successful in any personal or professional endeavor. Depending on the messages you opt to use, you might find yourself thinking more positively, wanting to work out, feeling better about yourself and being nicer to others. Subliminal messaging materials can be found in many different mediums and the subject matter can envelop nearly anything.

You can even create subliminal messages and get over all of your excuses!

Ever been working on your affirmations for success or other success strategies and heard yourself say in your mind, but I don’t have enough money, but, I’m not slim enough, but, I don’t have a PHD in anything.

All of these excuses run through your head and counteracts with your efforts at success.

It characterizes a location you have and keeps you at the place where it stays a problem instead of allowing you to move forward to a solution. You can create your own subliminal messages to get over all of those circles of excuses in your mind. They will pave the way for you to accomplish your goals through whatever success strategy you need at this time.

When we think we need to do something, we typically think about the pros and cons and then come to a decision whether it’s a good idea or not. We do this consciously because we are aware of the choice we have been given, we’re using the knowledge and reasoning skills that we’ve built-up during our lives.

The subconscious mind does not have these skills. It doesn’t have the ability to tell the difference between right and wrong and it doesn’t referee the information it obtains. It just takes it as the truth and that’s it.

Create your own Subliminal Messages:

Use a way to record your voice (or someone else’s) to a CD or mp3 player. Create the subliminal messages according to what you want to work on at any given moment in your life.

There are several aspects that will establish whether your subliminal messages will be effective:

1. Use first person pronouns in your message (I)

2. Use present tense (I have)

3. Use positive messages (I am happy)

Always focus on the positive, never the negative. Say these affirmations as if they exist now.

How I Decided To Unclutter My Life

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

Having returned recently from a trip to Israel I realized that what I wanted in life was really so simple.

My mother in law offered to pay for my sister in law and myself to take a trip to Israel. Well, I certainly wasn’t going to say no to that! I have travelled quite extensively, that was - until I married and had children. Don’t get me wrong, I love my husband and kids but life was simpler way back when. That was when I remembered who I was and before I sort of got lost in the whirl wind of life.

When I was younger I loved to travel, see the world and experience new cultures and world views.
Now I had the opportunity to get back on track and renew some of my life goals- one of them being to see as much of the world as possible.

I was deeply moved in so many ways through this trip but at the same time deeply disappointed. I wanted to see for myself where Jesus had walked and let all those Bible stories come to life. Disappointment number one was so many of those places, in reality, where now replaced by over decorated, ornate, dingy, incense filled churches. To make matters worse, at the entrance or exit - or both - there were people asking for collections or entrance fees to get into a place of worship. This was in both Christian and Jewish houses of Worship. In my culture - this is totally unacceptable.

I don’t have the space to write down all else that I experienced but what I came away with from this amazing trip was this. Simply my life and especially my faith. True religion is having a relationship with God and not having to impress him with all that gold and incense. It is so true that the best things in life are free. Surely it ’s all about what Jesus taught - “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your might and love your neighbour as yourself”.

Identify Your Obstacles and Choices To Obtain Success

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

As we all know, by now, hopefully, obstacles, setbacks, blocks, negative feedback and over-estimated performance expectations are a natural part of any enterprise or undertaking we have in life. The key, then, which separates the best from the rest, the no-quitter from the quitters, is how to view these initial setbacks and failures. They have different words in their vocabulary to describe these situations.

And more importantly, they have different questions in their mind - whether they’re aware of it or not - which are being asked by themselves whenever they’d encounter these instances.

You see, I’ve encountered a fascinating realisation, an observation of natural phenomena (not on Discovery Channel), of the patterns of all things - those which happened in my life, and those which I’ve noted from the lives of others in the past, or even those I’ve observed from fiction.

And what is that?

Truth #1:

There are infinite variables, possibilities and probabilities. Every point in time, every point where we are about to make a decision, and even every significant plot point in a story has a virtually unlimited number of alternative turn-outs.

The pattern of Cause & Effect is not a linear chain; as in Cause -> Effect.

It is more like a Web. One Cause can possibly produce many Effects, or vice-versa, an Effect can be the product of a combined number of Causes.

That much is obvious.

By the way, I didn’t come to realise this fact from watching a certain pretentiously philosophizing action film currently playing this Summer. Please…

Truth #2:

By now, we should all know, hopefully, that there are both objective and subjective levels to every experience we embrace. To be prudent, one must have a balance of placing both objective and subjective labels to their experiences.

Which leads me to tell you to regard an initial setback which you encounter as objectively as possible.

No… Wrong… You should both experience it subjectively, feel the failure, the weight of it pulling you down.

This is good for you to learn from it. The negative experience of encountering a small failure serves to strengthen your memory to not repeat it again. So make use of it.

Then, after you’ve had enough of it, begin to take it objectively. The key is knowing how much and when to feel it subjectively and then objectively.

And when we are viewing this situation in as an objective manner as possible, we see it as merely feedback, a reaction to our actions, an effect of the cause which we trigger.

We find that it is also natural, it is almost supposed to be, but just not what we had intended it to be.

From here, we can jump straight to action, feeling light and free, not shackled by the subjective experience of failure which shines upon it in a negative light.

We can begin to take remedial action to fix, restart, traverse, get over or get around this failure.

How?

Back to Truth #1 concerning the pattern of Cause & Effect being a web rather than a linear chain.

What did I say? That a Cause can have multiple Effects. And an Effect can have multiple Causes.

Your intended result, your goal, your desire, your performance target, is an Effect.

If you did not get the Effect which you had intended for, then the Cause with which you’ve produced that Effect is not EFFECTIVE in the sense that you want it to match your initially intended result. However, it is still EFFECTIVE in the sense that it does produce a result, an effect, a reaction.

Therefore, if an effect which you’ve elicited is not the effect that you want, then you need to change the CAUSE!

In simple terms: If at first you fail, try, try, and then try again.

Other words: Never, never, never give up!

Here are some tips and some Effective Questions to go along with them:

- At every point along the path of your enterprise/undertaking/project, constanstly ask yourself how this can be better. Ask what other options have you. How can this turn out a better or worse way.

Other words: Be open and flexible to other options.

- In the initial planning stage, plot all the steps and all the alternative steps you can take. Make a Plan B. A Plan C and a Contingency Plan. Complexity of plan depends upon the complexity of your undertaking and the value of your end reward. Though this may not always be true.

- Ask some Effective Meta-Questions to aid you in learning from mistakes and setbacks and applying the proposed improvements and modifications to previously lacking performance standards.

Ask these questions to help you learn how to apply the answers and ideas you may get about how to improve the way you work so that you can bounce back up from your failure and continue.

The questions are…

What is really going on here? What is the truth behind this situation?

What do people tell me is wrong? What do people tell me is the cause of this problem? Are they correct? Are they 100% accurate?

What do I think? Is my view 100% accurate? How do I know?

Am I looking at it subjectively or objectively? How can I view it more objectively? Have I felt enough of a subjective emotional experience to this setback? Why must I now view it more objectively? What if I am viewing it objectively already?

What are the alternative ways to achieve my target? How else can I do/be/have (State Your Intended Goal Here)?

What will each alternative way lead to?

What are the positive and negative points about each path?

What will I gain and lose if I go a certain way?

How can I maintain an open mind to alternative methods which are in line with my principles?

Why must I maintain an open mind to alternative methods which are in line with my principles?

What would it be like if I am already maintaining an open mind to alternative methods which are in line with my principles?

You can think of some more questions for yourself, can you?

How to Flirt With Her?

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

Flirting is part and parcel of the dating game. It is used to express sexual or romantic interest in the other person. There are a few ways to flirt with her, such as using body languages, conversation, or physical contact. The flirting process is a very important in the success of a relationship.

The main objective of flirting is to speak and act in a way that improves the intimacy between you and her. This will smooth the path for you to turn your friendship with her into a relationship.

One of the best ways to flirt with her is to use the Casual Touching technique, like touching one’s hair. So why is this way so good? This technique is usually very subtle, and she will usually do not think too much into it. But by having those little physical contacts with her, you are actually putting “anchors” on her.

So what do I mean by placing anchors on her? By casually touching her arms gently, she will feel somehow connected to you. When you keep on touching her on the same place, as time goes by, she will connect the action of you touching her arm with you. Therefore whenever she sees you, she will expect you to touch her on the same place, which in this case the arm.

As you know, having physical contact with a woman is definitely a good way to create a chance for yourself to have a relationship with her. But if you do it too aggressively, you will most probably get a big tight slap from her. Therefore, the Casual Touching technique will be very handy in this situation.

There are also some other flirting techniques such as maintaining eye contact, smiling at her, teasing her in a confident manner, winking, and giving her special gifts.

Master the techniques of flirting and you are on your way to victory in the dating game.

Don’t Set Goals: Get In Shape First

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

“Doctor, doctor, my body doesn’t work!” “Have you fed it lately?”
“Mechanic, mechanic, my car won’t run!” “Have you put fuel in its tank lately?”
“Geek, geek, my computer won’t run!” “Have you plugged it in lately?”

Simple. If you haven’t fed “it” lately, “it”, whatever it is, won’t perform well. That includes you, the person who desires accomplishments and success. Success coaching starts here: plug in and turn on the juice. Take good care of yourself. Fuel up the tanks, all of them. You must be in good shape in all aspects, physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, etc. before you can learn new tricks. In fact, much of success coaching is leading people into better self care. Often they already know what to do to make the changes in life they want. They just didn’t have the energy and health to pull it off.

What keeps you from taking good care of yourself on a regular basis? Here are some possible reasons:

* As a child, not shown how. No modeling or instruction in self care.

* Grew up in an emotionally chaotic family.

* Believe there is such a thing as “selfishness” that should be avoided.

* Parented with shamed based and/or other abusive parenting styles.

* Currently, do not receive permission or validation for solid self care.

Net result for you now is that others are taken into account first and you focus on their needs. Your needs come last, if at all.

Feeling uncomfortable reading this, makes my point. To even think about putting self first and keeping self well juiced, in good shape with the energy flowing, can evoke feelings of guilt and selfishness.

Come on. You deserve a break. Fill yourself up, and get to work on your goals.

A licensed psychologist, Paul W. Anderson, Ph.D. has coached people in their careers, relationships and business aspirations for many years. The Truth About Organizing

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

“A clean desk is a sign of a sick mind.” Really?

Many people think that organizing is about spend all your time keeping your home perfectly neat and tidy. Or about buying lots of expensive containers. Perhaps when you think of an organized Mom you think of someone like Bree on Desperate Housewives who lives to be organized instead of organizing to live.

Some people figure that if they aren’t obsessed with organizing, they won’t really become organized so why bother organizing at all? The truth is that just being reasonably organized enhances your whole life. It improves your self-confidence, self-respect, and overall well being. It lowers stress and helps you find more time and energy to do the things in life that matter most to you, like spending time with family, pursuing creative hobbies, eating healthy, and exercising.

Organizing is NOT about being tidy all the time.

One of the great myths about being organized is that you have to be perfectly tidy all the time. Many “tidy” people are actually quite disorganized. They may focus on making things look good, yet their closets and drawers may be stuffed to the brim with stuff they can’t find when they need it!

Organizing is NOT about buying lots of fancy containers.

Yet another myth about organizing. Containers are great and are needed for some things, but if you don’t buy them with a purpose in mind, they just become more clutter. You rarely have to buy a lot more storage containers to get organized, you just have to use what you have efficiently!

Being organized is about:

Being in control of your space, your possessions and your time.Being proactive and not just reactive to all the stuff and noise out there competing for your attention and your money. For example, shopping for what you need, rather than reacting to advertising and gimmicks that tempt you to shop impulsively.Being able to find what you need, when you need it.Being able to get where you want to be on time.Being able to pay your bills on time.Having a home for everything so that putting things away - and finding them again - is just as easy as dropping them on a table.Being able to clean up for company in less than 20 minutes! Being organized is not about making you perfect, it’s about having a place for everything, so that even if you do let it go for a while, getting back on track will be easy!

The ABC’s Of A Great Life: “H” Is For Hozho

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

I was tempted to choose “harmony” for this installment of my alphabet. However, a brief moment of reflection convinced me instead to favor this Navaho term which, while encompassing and often explained as harmony, delivers so much more than that when you plumb the true depth of its meaning.

Hozho cannot be adequately translated into a single English word. It is the essence of the Navaho way of being, a sense of elemental rightness that is core to their way of living - a way of being that we could do worse than to strive for in our own lives. Hozho is a word of depth and layers, meaning at once harmony and beauty, truth and balance. To be in hozho is to be at one with and a part of your environment and the world around you in such a way that the notes of your life complement and resonate with the symphony of life all around you. You neither pitch above nor below the thrumming chords of the Universe, but yet at the same time your melody stands on its own merits and is heard with utter clarity - pure in tone and pitch and strength, singular yet subsumed in the whole.

Hozho is not the easiest word to explain, but it’s essential meaning can be intuited through experience. Think of those times when you felt as if you truly part of the creation around you, yet clearly a singular being, at once loved by and in love with all that was around you. Perfectly matched, perfectly balanced, perfectly in tune - walking with beauty and rightness and joy in every step and every breath. That is hozho, and I wish you the ability to find it and live it in your life.
