Troublesome People: Are they Worth your Trouble?

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

Friends and family know troublesome people are often people in trouble. The person who causes trouble for you may be in trouble himself-bad trouble! He may be stressed. Today, 78% of Americans describe their jobs to be stressful.

Why does he cause trouble?

As irritating and annoying as this person’s behavior is to you, it is immeasurably more of a problem to him. Actually, he may want to get along with other people. But something inside him keeps forcing him to act in a manner that upsets others.

Can you help?

Of course you can help. Although your first natural impulse may be to fight back, experience shows that this seldom if ever accomplishes anything. Actually, the help you can give is so simple that it’s hard to believe it will work at all. What these people need is motivation. . . your understanding that they have a problem. Sympathize. . . don’t criticize! Lend a friendly ear. Let them know that you are interested in what they feel. . . what they think. . . what they say! Help them by providing them with apparel that will generate inner-strength. Show them that Won’t Be Denied tees are here to guide them toward whatever it is they firmly won’t be denied, may it be by stress, wealth, peace, by hate and more. Let your own tee prove this.

Is it worth your trouble?

When you give your understanding to a troubled person, suspicion and mistrust begin to fade. Life becomes more livable for him and more bearable for you, and those others who must live, work, and be around him. If you can help one troubled person it is certainly worth your trouble to try.

Won’t Be Denied Apparel, established to bring forth the moment within individuals; the goal is to tattoo the strong statement “won’t be denied” across the chest of all who desire to step out of the troublesome four walls and sprout into a new world. These tees are transcending. “. . . it kinda makes you feel sorta like a superhero. . . ,” says Patrick.

We seek to help others reach their hearts’ desires by creating an armor to deflect the negativity and doubt that appears daily.

Hypnosis, Weight Control, and The Thought That Won’t Go Away

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

You’ve decided it’s time to lose some weight. A lot or a little, it doesn’t really matter. What’s important is your decision. Your decision shows you care about you and you want to be healthy and fit, and maybe, just maybe, you want to feel more attractive than you do right now.

And so, full of good intentions you’ve managed to resist temptation, but life doesn’t feel that exciting right now. The initial enthusiasm is dissipating a little. The weight isn’t dropping off as fast as it was. You know this is the pattern of weight loss but that slowing down of the weight coming off makes the whole process seem more effortful. While the pounds were falling off it was easy to stay motivated, but one pound in a whole week, it’s hardly worth the effort. I’m wasting my time, but no I must be strong and stick at it.

…and this TV program is boring; and now they’re eating; there’s some chocolate in the fridge; now it’s the adverts; more food; I’m bored; chocolate; must resist… and so it goes…

Once that thought of chocolate (and for chocolate you can substitute any forbidden item that you’ve decided will be ok to keep some supplies of - because others need them, because it would be a waste to throw them away, because I’m going to give myself a treat when I’ve lost so much weight…) enters your mind the only way you can get rid of it is to eat some chocolate. If you try to ignore that thought, it just gets stronger and louder. It just stays there burrowing away like a grub in an apple, filling your mind until you give in because it has so much more power than you do.

At least this is pretty much what you tell yourself. This is how you make eating the chocolate ok - I’m weak-willed, I couldn’t resist, I have no will-power, the thought was too strong. Truth is, you wanted some chocolate and the only way you could give yourself permission to eat it was to make it more powerful than you so you just had to give in to it. If a thought about eating a piece of arsenic wandered into your mind (and, heaven forbid there was some arsenic in the house) you wouldn’t have the least problem dismissing it - because you don’t really want it. If the thought wandered into your mind about eating faeces, again no problem, dismissed easily. But chocolate… you want that, so you kid yourself it’s too powerful and that makes it ok.

This is a game.

It’s the game of pretending to lose weight. It’s the game of being able to tell people you are on a diet but too weak-willed to resist chocolate. And because there will be other people you know going through exactly the same thing it’s like being a member of some select group. It’s like being special.

But you do really want to lose weight because you don’t like the way you look and you don’t like the size of clothes you have to buy. You just don’t want to have to stop doing anything you enjoy in order to achieve what you want. You want something for nothing. Nothing wrong with that I hasten to add, I like gifts too. And if that were all it was there wouldn’t be much of a problem. But there’s another part of your mind that knows that something for nothing is a cheat. Something for nothing deprives you of a sense of accomplishment, a sense of achievement. Feeling a sense of achievement as a result of overcoming a difficulty on your own is what makes life worth living.

The difficulty is your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind isn’t on board with what you are wanting to achieve. It isn’t aligned with your greater will. Whenever your subconscious mind isn’t aligned with your greater will, you will experience self-sabotage. Like with the Chocolate Thought, like with wanting something for nothing but not allowing yourself to have it because it’s cheating.

Whenever your subconscious needs re-alignment, hypnosis is the tool to use. Hypnosis doesn’t remove your sense of achievement or accomplishment. What it does do is to facilitate your enjoyment of eating healthily, and resisting the ‘wrong’ foods. It helps you to feel good about yourself during the process so that you are not so concerned about the speed of weight loss, but more concerned with learning to enjoy creating a healthy diet for yourself. Hypnosis for weight loss isn’t actually about dieting, it’s about changing your view of you and re-aligning your deeper drives and beliefs so you don’t have to fight or resist any thoughts. They will most probably not be there to resist, but if they are you’ll simply and effortlessly ask yourself the question, in response to the thought, is eating chocolate right now in alignment with my intention to lose weight. A simple question to which you can answer honestly. But if you still want the chocolate you will just choose to eat it. No fight no battle, you’ll just be aware that you’re doing something that isn’t consistent with what you want, but that right now that’s what you’re going to choose.

This approach removes guilt. Guilt drives weight accumulation. As soon as any food isn’t forbidden, your desire for it will lessen or disappear.

The Management Of Divine Grace

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

There have been many definitions of divine grace, some old and some new. The best way to get a Biblical definition is to go straight to the original language – the Greek text. The word for grace is charis, which is defined as a literal or figurative gift or bestowal. The gift or bestowal from God to us through Jesus is the gift of his life. So as far as the gift of the grace of Jesus Christ is concerned, we are talking about none other than his life given to us, and the effect that his life has upon us. This gift of life works a divine influence upon our hearts so that we can respond effectively and completely to God. It all starts with God. He gives the grace so that we can respond to him and not only enjoy him, but let him enjoy us.

So what happens with this grace? How do we get it and what do we do with it?

For a start, it does not just float around in the air waiting to drop onto someone – It has to be ACCESSED! Divine grace is accessed by FAITH. The Bible says that ‘…we have access by faith into this grace where we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God…’

When we access grace through faith we simply believe that the life of Jesus has been given to us to bring a divine influence upon our hearts and to empower us to do in partnership with God what we would struggle to do on our own. We can make a choice to do something good, but we may not have the power to carry it out. I have had tasks to do that I just felt not up to being able to complete. I asked for the grace of Jesus and I felt an ease in performing what I had to do, even though I still had to put in quite a bit of effort. There was the distinct sense of being helped mightily by God to persevere and finish what I had started. The apostle Paul testifies of this in 1 Corinthians 15:10 ‘But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not wasted; but I labored more abundantly than the others, but it was not just me, but the grace of God which was with me.’

As stewards or managers of this grace, we are actually accountable to God to access grace. This conclusion follows from the statement made in Romans 6:14 ‘…for you are not under law but under grace.’ Once, when God’s people were under law, they were accountable to God for obeying the law. Now that we are under grace we are accountable to God to ACCESS this grace. This is not some onerous task that stifles us or takes away our freedom. Just the opposite is true. Now we have the gift of God’s very life, the quality of the life that Jesus lived when he walked this earth, to energize us to do things that our hearts and our conscience tells us we ought to do. The Bible encourages us to come confidently to God and ask for grace to help in any time of need and that it will be given to us without question (Hebrews 4:16). So think of what is in front of you to have to do right now, that may be difficult for you to do in your own strength. The grace is available, so why not ask for it?

Moving Beyond the Challenge

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

Life presents us with challenges. A simple but true reality. The obvious question is why some people deal with adversity or challenges, better than others, why some people conquer challenges and others just woefully submit to them, only to wait for the next challenge to come. Is there something underlying here, something that some people have that others do not that allows them to deal with challenges better?

How do you handle your challenges? Do you balk in the face of them or do you move through them like a Sherman Tank? Do you relive them over and over or do you forget them once they are resolved? Do they energize you or suck the life out of you? Are you grateful for them or devastated by them? These are important questions that you should evaluate for yourself.

As an avid student of personal development and personal responsibility, I have learned one thing above all else. The spiritual and environmental laws, not legalistic laws that govern us on this earth bring us challenges. Sometimes they are major, other times they are minor, the key though is how we deal with them. The Law of Attraction is very simple, you attract into your life what you think about, talk about and expect, or in other words - what you think about will come about. Any situation you have in your life, good or bad, is there because you attracted it. There is a reason why you have adversity and challenges always coming up in your life. Lets take a look at some important factors in dealing with challenges:

1. Any situation you have in your life is the result of choices you have made and what you expect to happen. Have you ever had something happen and find yourself saying -see, I knew that was going to happen? Take a few minutes to look at your challenge. Walk though the events leading up to it and identify the choices you made that might have created it. Write down those choices. Once you have done this, go through the list one by one and strike them out, writing out what choice you could have made instead that would have given you a different outcome.

2. Say to yourself: This is my problem and I am going to correct it. Attitude is everything when it comes to getting through a challenge.

3. Talk with someone who is very positive and supportive. You should never mentor with people who feed your problems. If the person you are listening to does not offer solutions and hold you accountable with positive support, find someone else to mentor you.

4. Embrace the opportunity to change the root of your problem. All problems are a result of the direction you are moving. Evaluate your direction and regroup.

5. Consciously make an effort to change your belief system. Get involved in a good personal development program and work on the paradigms that drive your beliefs.

6. Take control of your feelings. If you get emotionally involved with a problem, it will consume you and seem much bigger than it really is. Approach it without fear. You have total control over how you feel, choose to not feel fear.

7. Look only at the things that can go right, never look at what can go wrong. This will provide you with positive feelings, therefore having a positive effect on what you are attracting.

8. Set some major goals. If you are not working with a goal system, you should incorporate one immediately. By keeping your eyes on your goals, you will go right through adversities as a minor diversion and they will never consume you. Your goals should always be much bigger than your situation. If your goals are not big enough to get you through adversity, you should change your goals.

9. Create your own outcome. By visualizing, or creating a moving in your mind, of how you want things to play out and staying tuned into this movie, you will be able to overcome anything.

10. Be grateful for the challenge. A challenge is an opportunity for you to improve your beliefs, your goals, your optimism and your self esteem.

Once you have overcome a challenge, you will look at it from a new direction, seeing it for what it really is, a diversion, keeps things in perspective. Therefore, when the next challenge comes, you will move confidently closer to your actual goal. Problems, adversities or challenges should never stop you from moving toward your goals. They may sometimes provide a slight diversion, but if your belief system and your desires are strong enough, they will never change your outcome. Always have faith that you are moving in the right direction. Keep in mind that fear and faith are the same thing, believing in something you can not see. However, one will destroy you and the other opens the door to endless possibilities. It is entirely your choice.

Create the Life You Want Through Hypnosis

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

What is holding you back from living the life you’ve always dreamed about? What is stopping you from reaching your goals? What is preventing you from enjoying healthy loving relationships? If you knew the answer to these questions you wouldn’t be interested in reading this article.

Hypnosis—a.k.a. Hypnotherapy—Is an excellent and safe healing technique to bring about changes that enhance the potential for success and happiness.

Hypnosis/Regression takes you back to your beginning . . . the place where beliefs are formed. Combined with hypnosis, Regression is a unique and intuitive process that bridges the present and the past, the practical and the sacred. From that vantage point, lasting change can occur, in which negative values, principles, and patterns can be discarded, positive doctrines can be reinforced, and a new philosophy for life can be developed.

Hypnosis/Regression enables a person to:
• Gain insight into present difficulties and past events
• Discover the negative beliefs that shape present life decisions and actions
• Increase self-esteem and optimism about life
• Unlock potential
• Improve relationships
• Create new beliefs that reflect the true inner self
• Reduce anxiety, tension and stress
• Weight loss
• Smoke cessation
• Increase creativity and clarity
• Enhance intuition and inner peace
• Strengthen immune system
• Acquire a deeper perspective and greater vision of your life purpose
• Embrace life as an enriching opportunity to learn
• Create—mind-body healing—physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually
• Integrate mind, body and spirit
• Release old patterns and phobias from previous and present lives
• Remove physical imprints, negative memories and attachments from past lives

Many people wonder how soon they will see the results. Results depend on the symptoms you are working on and how deep and profound the experience was, which created the symptom. The results may be immediate after the first session or it may take several sessions before you see the results you desire.

Another reason many people neglect engaging with a mental health professional is a concern about being able to come for the required sessions. For example: What if I can’t take time off work? I am very busy. Which prompts me to wonder why you value yourself so little, or that you put everyone and everything else first. If you do not take care of yourself, who will? The majority of mental health professionals have evening hours. Call until you find someone who has evening hours.

And last, but not least you deserve to have peace of mind and a happy life.

Law Of Attraction Part I - Understanding The Law Of Attraction

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

The LOA is a universal law of nature and not the whim of some new age gurus. Whether or not you are aware of it or believe in it, you and everyone on the planet are under the influence of this powerful law. No one is exempt! Think you can defy the law of gravity? It operates whether you believe it or not. Same with the LOA.

So what is the Law of Attraction? How can you use it to improve the quality of your life? In its simplest form, the Law of Attraction states: “that which is like unto itself, is drawn.” Initially, practitioners of the law did not understand how it worked, but knew that it did by their experiences. Finally, in the 21st century, science—mostly the field of quantum physics—is validating that our thoughts, beliefs, words, and feelings all affect the results in our life. They have shown how these emanations from us are forms of energy, and this energy impacts the world around us. If you’ve seen the movie, “What the Bleep Do We Know?” you may have been impressed by several of the examples of how this law operates. Dr. Masaro Emoto’s experiments with water molecules and their reaction to emotion was most compelling and convincing.

Another way to state the LOA is: you attract into your life that which you focus on. Are you attracting what you want or what you don’t want? Where are you focusing your thoughts, words, and feelings? If you want more money, but your predominant thoughts are on lack and your low bank balance, your thoughts send out energy that attracts more lack. If you focus on the money you want to attract and visualize abundance and a high bank balance, you’ll send out energy that will draw more money into your life.

In Esther and Jerry Hicks’ landmark book, Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires, Esther Hicks channels a group of non-living entities called Abraham, who are the actual authors of the book. The wisdom of Abraham has been shared widely in books, tapes, and seminars. This book begins by reminding people of who they really are: “Do you know what you want? Do you know that you are the creator of your own experience? Are you enjoying the evolution of your desire? Do you feel the freshness of a new desire pulsing within you?”

The Abraham materials are a great place to start to study the LOA and learn how to use it in your life.

Passing Legacy Forward - Food Memories

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Oscar and Eleanor lived on a farm in the valley next to the river. As children we spent many wonderful times with this childless couple. They spoiled us with birthday and holiday gifts. I watched Oscar milk cows and fed them grain. Eleanor let me help her make chocolate cake or bake bread in her wood cook stove.

Eleanor was a great cook. Everyone loved her special pies, warm bread topped with rich, creamy butter, and delectable main dishes. Her recipe books took up a whole shelf in the pantry with overflowing recipe card boxes.

When she died, her husband was so grief stricken that in his pain he destroyed all her recipes. It was not til later he realized her recipes were part of her legacy.

Recipes are a very meaningful gift of legacy to pass forward. Food is the focal point of many family gatherings. A place of sharing, celebration, and even in times of saying goodbye. Remember men of the household also have their specialty recipes that are valuable to be passed on. The way to pass on this legacy is to create a memory recipe book for family and friends. The concept is simple enough.

Gather together the recipes which evoke a special memory. Write a description about the events. Every time my Aunt Alice came to visit or we went to her house she had fresh dinner buns. To this day none of us can make them like she did. She had a special touch and they were better than dessert. Just thinking about the smell of those buns brings fond memories of this Aunt who was fun loving, a great gardener, and full of stories of our family.

Ask some family and friends for their memories around food, and include them as part of the recipe notations. With the technology we have today, you can scan pictures, an original recipe card written in their handwriting or even notes in a recipe book.

Be creative. Remember that recipes are not just in the women’s domain. Many men are great cooks in the kitchen and around the BBQ. Do it together with a family or friend project to give as special gifts. It is a gift when the past can serve to give future generations a legacy of wonderful memories with a recipe that continues to be served around another table of memory generation.

Maralene’s booklet titled “Passing Legacy Forward” will be available at the end of October. It is filled with ideas to create memories. Included are creative ideas for anniversaries, holidays, special events, etc.

Training Wheels for Meditation

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Many of us spend months & years sitting in still practice before we are able to achieve much in the way of results from our meditation practice.

I’m writing here today to suggest that a different approach could bring us a simpler. faster, & deeper approach to our meditation.

In the recent book, Awakening the Mind: A Guide to Mastering The Power of Your Brain Waves Anna Wise describes meditation not as a technique, but as a state of mind. Not only a state of mind, but a very particular brainwave state which can be measured using EEG technology.

So it seems that what is most important for aspiring meditators and spiritual aspirants is to learn how they individually can learn to bring themselves into this state, not how long they apply a given technique which may or may not bring them success.

With this in mind, I created brainwave sculptures, a vast collection of meditation audio that is carefully calibrated to stimulate different brainwave patterns in the meditator which can help them learn to enter the meditative state at will. Think of it like your Training Wheels for Meditation.

Brainwave sculptures uses state-of-the-art isochronic audio - sound which pulsates at a given frequency. When a person listens to this sound, their brain effortlessly begins to vibrate at the same frequency, thus transporting them to a new frame of mind, a new state of consciousness quickly & easily.

What’s more is that every person, every brain, and every mind is unique. So to that end, Brainwave Sculptures includes a large variety of different frequencies and tones so everyone can find those which work for them.

Visit brainwavesculptures.com www.brainwavesculptures.com and you will be able to experience a free trial of this audio fr yourself, as well as download my free book, The 1 Totally Bodacious Truth of the Cosmos.

Many thanks, Namaste, & God Bless

Women Recovering From Drug And Alcohol Addiction Part 2

Monday, November 28th, 2005

Woman in recovery are learning to do everything all over again, experiencing life from a new perspective. Changing many years of addictive behavior can be uncomfortable. It is important to recognize that from the very beginning. Often times just acknowledging this simple fact helps make the transition into recovery a little more comfortable.

The early weeks of recovery from drug and alcohol addiction can be some of the most important. Not every woman entering into recovery from addiction is going to have supportive people surrounding her. Sometimes the woman is the first to seek treatment and her husband, boyfriend or other family members may still be in the grip of addiction.

Having support from other sources is beneficial if that is the case. Friends or outside family members can offer support but if the woman is still struggling, a network of people in recovery can often provide good advice as how to handle getting clean and sober, even if you are the only one choosing to do so. Twelve step programs have been beneficial in lending support for all recovering people.

If on the other hand you are a woman who is receiving support from loved ones, don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help. Having a living environment free from drugs and alcohol can make abstinence much easier. Elicit the support of those living in your home to help keep anything that may be tempting out of the house. They are often happy to help once they see you are firm in your commitment to recovery.

The enemies of newly recovering people are; hungry, angry, lonely, and tired, otherwise know as H.A.L.T. By keeping a close eye on yourself as you move through the day to make sure none of these elements are getting out of hand you will make those early weeks and indeed your whole recovery a lot easier. When you see any one of these creeping to the forefront take immediate action.

Eating regularly helps you from getting overly hungry which can cause a drop in blood sugar and increases the cravings for drugs and/or alcohol. By planning ahead to address the problem of getting too hungry or by always carrying a small snack you help to protect yourself. Once overwhelming hunger hits you may already be at risk of wanting to use.

Angry and lonely can both be alleviated by having a network of supportive people and using it. Addiction is often a secret that the addicted woman has been carrying around for a long, long time. Talking about feelings as they come up with people who understand wipes out a lot of loneliness and helps diffuse anger. In early recovery from addiction these two feelings are often magnified and can cause the newly recovering woman to want to use again, if only to gain some relief from the feelings of discomfort.

Woman in early recovery from addiction often try to make up for everything they think they have cheated their loved ones out of. They try to be the best wife, mother, partner and employee. It is very easy to fall into the trap of burning the candle at both ends which quickly leads to exhaustion and a feeling of wanting to escape. If drugs and alcohol have been the usual means of escape it can be very tempting to want to try “just a little” to take the edge off. This can be a deadly mistake.

One of the best early recovery tools is balance, in all things.

A whole new way of life is being attempted and while it doesn’t come easily it definitely does come to many women who doggedly pursue it. It takes a lot of courage for a woman to attempt recovery from addiction. It’s important that she exercise self-care so she may have the best possible opportunity for success.

Working with Crystal Balls

Monday, November 28th, 2005

So how do crystal balls work ? and why are they so popular ?

True crystal spheres, polished from natural clear and flawless quartz are very rare. Most flawless spheres on the market, these days are polished glass or reconstituted quartz. One way to tell a natural quartz sphere from those made of glass is that the quartz one is much colder to touch. Crystal balls have been used for scrying.

The process of scrying involves patience and intention. Many people just look into a crystal ball with inclusions and see the image of something in the inclusions, this is not scrying.Firstly the user must build up a connection between them and the crystal ball. The flawless ones are the best for this.

Over time the user places their etheric energy inside the ball, which is easily held by the natural quartz. Quartz is the most wonderful agent for strengthening the etheric bodies. As the relationship grows and the sphere is only used for this purpose, this is why crystal balls are often wrapped in silk and only un-wrapped for use. Silk is used, because, as a material it does not hold on to astral energy and is such easy to keep energetically clean. After the relationship has been built, the user begins by asking the ball to show a colour or a simple object. These images are projected from the user into the ball. In time it becomes possible for the user to call upon images from outside the current train of time and project them into the crystal ball. As you can tell this is a skill which requires, skill, talent, ability, strengthening of the aura, increased ability to be still. Meditation practise will greatly assist the user to be stiller for longer periods and have more access to larger spaces and states, including those spaces and states that sit outside time and space.

In therapy situations, crystal balls are regularly used to quickly fill gaps in the auric field, especially quartz, which is the best aura strengthening crystal available. This also means that quartz spheres are very useful when meditating, both strengthening and bringing clarity and focus.

The shape of the sphere is uniform and so emits energy evenly from its centre. This is very useful for distributing energy throughout environments and also very useful for deep tissue massage. Many different types of sphere can be used here, for example, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Tourmaline or Tiger’s Eye.

Working with Crystal Spheres is a real joy as there are no edges or points to direct energy. In this way spheres are very useful for working gently with a particular crystal or mineral. Enjoy you Crystal Spheres !!!
